G.I. Jobs magazine has named Taylor University as a Military Friendly School for 2010. This award is G.I.Jobs Military Friendly Schoolsgiven to the top 15 percent of military friendly universities throughout the nation.

According to Janet Shaffer, Taylor's registrar, Taylor University supports students in military reserve and veterans with the following programs:
1. Students called to active duty are accorded one of the following options
   a. A 100% refund
   b. Taking incompletes for all courses to finish later with no refund
   c. Or a combination (Receive a partial refund and partial incompletes).

2. Taylor also participates in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Yellow Ribbon Program, which was authorized under the Post-9/11 GI Bill. This program provides tuition assistance from Taylor and the VA to cover tuition charges that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate.

The 2010 Guide to Military Friendly Schools will be published in September, 2009. The list of military friendly schools will be featured on the cover of the October issues of both G.I. Jobs as well as Military Spouse. This list will be promoted during the 2009-2010 academic year in the above magazines.

"Taylor strives to establish policies and procedures which will advance learning and enable our students to achieve their educational goals," said Taylor's Provost Stephen Bedi. "Therefore, it is gratifying to be recognized as a ‘military friendly' institution and know that students serving our country are valued and encouraged as they pursue their degrees at Taylor University."
